Frequently asked questions
Do you provide your own equipment and supplies?
Yes. We believe in using the highest quality products to clean your home. For example, we use microfiber cloths for dusting to reduce marring or scratching of delicate surfaces. Murphy's Oil Soap is used for cleaning wood cabinets and floors, Bar Keepers Friend for stainless steel, and Melaleuca products for general cleaning and bathrooms. Our vacuums are commercial vacuums with attachments for floor, furniture, and stairs, making it easy for our staff to get into hard-to-reach areas to ensure detailed cleaning. For our initial cleaning, if necessary, we may use some commercial cleaners manufactured by ZEP for removing rust, soap residue and hard water stains in bathrooms. All natural stone is cleaned with pH neutral cleaner from Melaleuca. Wood floors are damp mopped with a little Murphy's Oil Soap and are dried with a terry cloth dust mop. To protect your floor's sealant, all tile floors are mopped with Unitex Daily Cleaner and are then dried with a soft terry cloth dust mop. Unitex is a pH-neutral floor cleaner. We also provide the very small trash liners for bathroom receptacles. If larger trash liners are accessible, we will replace the liners when removing the trash. We also use a little Soft Scrub with bleach to disinfect bathrooms and kitchen as needed.
Our goal is to offer you superior service and we use the highest quality products to ensure your satisfaction. The products we use for General Cleans are very low fragrance and can be diluted more on request. On our Deep Cleans we do use commercial cleaners from Zep to remove soap, hard water and mildew, which can be very strong both in chemical make-up and odor. Please let us know if you prefer we not use them. It might take more time scrubbing, but if you are sensitive to smell we are sure you will find it worthwhile.
How long have you been in business?
We have been in business since 2004.
Are your staff employees or independent contractors?
We do not use independent contractors. All staff are employed by Executive Touch Cleaning Service, LLC.
Are your staff covered by insurance and/or bonded?
All our staff are W2 employees and are covered by Texas Workers Compensation Insurance, and they are also bonded. The Workers Comp insurance is the most important coverage for our customers and employees. If a person is on your property and they are injured, they can claim against your homeowner's insurance. With Workers Comp insurance our staff will be covered, removing the liability for injury from the homeowner.
Tipping?
We do not encourage tipping on a regular basis. If you'd like to leave them a monetary tip around Christmas it will give them something to look forward to and earn. Through the year you are welcome to leave them a bottle of water or a sweet treat. "Para que te disfrutes. Gracias." means "For you to enjoy. Thank you." We are very sorry, but all tips need to be cash; they cannot be added to your payment.
What is included in a Deep Clean?
With warm soapy water we hand wipe baseboards, interior doors, light switches and reachable ceiling fans and light fixtures. We clean reachable interior windows, hand wiping window ledges and window sashes. We will clean blinds and shutters with a lamb's wool duster and, when necessary, wipe them by hand. You can request that all blinds and shutters be hand wiped, but it will require additional time. High ceiling fans and light fixtures are cleaned with a lamb's wool duster. Your team cleans with a two-step step-stool and they wear nitrile gloves. If they need to reach higher areas an extension duster is used. Commercial cleaners are used in the bathroom to remove soap, hard water, mold and mildew. The Deep Clean includes the General Clean.
What is included in a General Clean?
We start by running a lamb's wool duster around the edge of the room, over baseboards, around furniture, over blinds, shutters, light fixtures and ceiling fans. We towel dust the window ledge and window sash. All furniture and items on furniture are cleaned and dusted with a microfiber towel (electronics, musical instruments and enclosed cabinets excluded). All the upholstered furniture is vacuumed (not only under the cushions but the furniture itself). Vinyl and leather furniture is wiped with a damp microfiber towel. In the kitchen we hand wipe the exterior of cabinets, the backsplash and all the appliances. We clean the interior of the microwave, the stove top and the kitchen sink. In the bathrooms we hand wipe the lights above the vanity, the mirror and the vanity cabinet. Bathtub, shower, toilet and sinks are all cleaned and dried. All small rugs are picked up, the floors are vacuumed, wet mopped and dried with a terry cloth dust mop.
What is included in a Quick Clean?
We start by wiping the window ledge and window sash. All furniture tops are cleaned and dusted with a microfiber towel (electronics, musical instruments and enclosed cabinets excluded). In the kitchen we clean the exterior of appliances, the stove top and the kitchen sink, wiping open counter spaces. In the bathrooms the mirrors, shower, toilet and sinks are all cleaned and dried. The bathtub is wiped out. Only open counter areas are cleaned. Open floor areas are vacuumed. This service is not recommended for families with pets or small children. We are not mopping the floors or moving area rugs and small mats. Mopping can be added, but it will require additional time.
What is included in a Move-In/Move-Out Clean?
Please make sure that all utilities are available until the day following your service. Move-in cleans are the same as our Deep Cleans and include cleaning inside cabinets, drawers and closets. On this service we are mostly using a towel to clean. If you spray the oven with an oven cleaner, like Easy-Off, we can also clean the inside of the oven on request. Please let us know if you want us to sweep the garage or clean inside the refrigerator or dishwasher; this is not part of the standard service. Move-out cleans are the same as our General Clean and do not normally include inside cabinets, drawers, closets or appliances. On this service we are mostly using a duster to clean. Move-Out Cleans are for customers who have experienced our Deep Clean. New customers are required to start with a Deep Clean.
Do you clean walls?
On request, after a remodel or paint job we can run a dry terry cloth or microfiber cloth over the walls to remove any dust. On request, we can wash walls with microfiber towels, using a pH neutral cleaner. Anything having to do with your walls is always a special request service and we are never responsible for any paint that thins or texture that falls off. You are solely responsible for your walls when you ask us to clean them. We try to be as careful as possible, but all paint is not equal in quality. In addition the age (whether new or old) can really affect texture and paint. Executive Touch Cleaning Service, LLC is not responsible for repairing, texturing or painting your walls if you choose for us to clean them.
What do I do when I go on vacation?
Email us the days you will not be needing service and we would be glad to cancel service. If you prefer to reschedule the service, we would be glad to try and accommodate your request.
What is your service area?
We service the city areas of McKinney, Melissa, Prosper, Frisco, Allen, Fairview, Princeton, and New Hope communities. This exclusivity affords your family the level of service, dependability and flexibility that an established, locally based business offers.
Does someone need to be home for service?
You do not need to be home for service. According to our Service Agreement you only need to provide access on the day of service. Our service does not start or finish at predetermined times, so it is very important that if you step out prior to service that you provide some form of access: a key under the mat, an unlocked door, a garage code or access code, a hide-a-key.
Can I be home during service?
We have many families that work from home, so we have designed a system of working from room to room. Normally we finish the second level or back of house before coming down to the first level or front of house. We only ask that you not be in the room we are cleaning. Your team has a rhythm that allows them to finish quickly and efficiently.
How are access keys stored?
If you provide an access key it will be stored securely on a plastic key tag with only a number that is utilized internally. Your name and address are not stored on the key, so if it is misplaced or lost accidentally it will have no affiliation to your home.
What if something is broken during the service?
As is standard in the industry, we cover damage and breakage up to the amount of the service. If an item is damaged or broken during the service your team will take a picture and text it to management. Management will then text or email the picture to you. If the item is under $20 we will make an adjustment to your invoice. If the item is over $20 you may search the internet for the item to provide us with an estimate of the cost, or replace the item and provide us with a receipt. Please hold onto the item for manager review until the price for the item can be established and the adjustment agreed on. Our staff are not penalized for breakage. They understand that it is important to maintain trust with our families by reporting any problems that occur in the home. Unreported damage must be reported to us within 48 hours or it is not our responsibility. We clean too many houses in a day or week to properly investigate damage past 48 hours. Please see your Service/Policy Agreement for clarity.
What if something is not completed to my satisfaction?
Because we bill by the hour, we do not charge for any areas that are missed or were not completed to your satisfaction. If you report these areas to us within 24 hours of your service we will gladly come back, free of charge, to make sure you are happy with the service. Homes are large places with lots of nooks and crannies. No one wants to pay for two days of white glove cleaning. Instead, if you will let us know the areas that are important to you, we will note your service sheet and make sure they receive the attention they need.
What are "man hours"?
To limit the amount of time we are in your home and provide a more efficient service we normally use a team of two staff. This means that we are billing per person per hour. If your service is 5 man hours it would be completed by one person in 5 hours or two people in 2.5 hours working together. On occasion it is necessary to use more than two staff, but the same calculations apply. If your service is 10 man hours it would be completed by one person working alone for 10 hours or 3 staff working together for 3 hours and 20 minutes.
Will I have the same team each time?
If we provide a weekly or bi-weekly service you will have the same team if you are on a consistent schedule, meaning you don't reschedule service. If you need to reschedule, we will do our best to schedule the service with your team, but unless requested otherwise the service will be assigned to an available team. Likewise, with monthly or as-needed service, we will always try to use your team, but unless specified otherwise your service will be assigned to an available team.
What time does service normally start?
Weekly and bi-weekly service normally has two service times: around 9am, or between 10am and 2pm. Our most reliable start time is the first morning service time, which normally starts between 9am and 9:30am. We try to reserve this service time for families that will be home during service to limit the amount of time they are waiting for their team. The second service of the day is a rather large service window, but you are always welcome to text or call for an update on your service team. You can also request prior to a service that your team start after a certain time or complete by a certain time. Please keep in mind that this greatly limits your service days, unless only requested occasionally for company or special events. As-needed or monthly service is normally completed after weekly and bi-weekly service, which means that it could start as late as 3 or 4pm, and even later around the holidays or busy times of the year. Once again, you can request that service be canceled or rescheduled if not started before a specified time.
I live alone; do I need to have a whole house clean?
You are welcome to customize the service to meet your needs. We can provide service for just a specific chore, like just bathrooms, just floors, just kitchen, or the most lived-in areas of the house: master suite, family room and kitchen. You get to choose what service you need and how often.
Pets?
Your pets are a part of your family and as such we will greet them and listen to them when they ask to go out into the back yard or come inside, but you are responsible for their safety and wellbeing. If they are runners, then it is your responsibility to make sure they are under control when your team arrives and leaves, because your team will be busy unloading and loading equipment and will not be able to supervise your pet. If a pet is not crated and we are not able to enter the home at time of service, you may be charged a $50 cancellation fee.
Do I have to start service with a Deep Clean?
In order for you to experience our best service and to ensure completion of any subsequent General Cleans in a timely manner, starting with a Deep Clean is required. If your home is in good condition the Deep Clean will simply require less time. You are also encouraged to exclude any areas that do not require a Deep Clean to keep service within your budget. Unlike other cleaning companies, once you have had our Deep Clean, if you try a General Clean within three months we will never require another Deep Clean. You will have the information you need to make an informed decision any time you use our service.
What holidays do you observe?
We provide service Monday through Friday, 52 weeks a year. Saturdays by prior appointment only. The holidays we observe are Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. If your service falls on a holiday we observe, it will automatically be canceled. If you would like to try and reschedule a holiday service please contact us; the sooner the better. You can never contact us too early to reschedule a holiday.
Do you provide service on Saturday or Sunday?
By prior appointment, at least one week prior, we can provide service on Saturday. We do not provide service on Sunday.
Did you get my email?
Email is a very non-urgent form of communication and is normally responded to in the evening or the next day. Email received on Friday afternoon may not be responded to until Monday. If you require a more immediate answer, please call or text. We are available until 9pm daily to answer your phone calls. Text messages on weekends or after 6pm are normally replied to on Monday if not urgent.
COVID-19 precautions?
As long as it is recommended, we will be using masks for your service and taking our staff temperatures in the morning. In addition, we will continue to wear gloves and practice social distancing by working from room to room. As an extra level of clean we will use Clorox wipes on touch surfaces and continue with our regular top-down detailed approach to cleaning. We ask that you be temperature free and remain in rooms where we are not cleaning. Our cancellation policy is with a 12-hour notice, but we are flexible when it comes to sick or exposed families.
